Spring 2012-Issue #23
Contributors
Nike Bolte, Writer:
Bitten by the wanderlust bug at an early age, Nike infuses her love of travel and nature into her snowbird lifestyle. An avid kayaker, landscape and nature photographer, and budding writer, she is an enthusiastic contributor to Pulse with her Natural Florida stories and photography. This issue, Nike tried her hand at writing a fictional piece based on her reactions to a photograph taken on the Dora Canal by Pulse photographer, Bill Casey. Nike's story, "Gator Bait," is on page 10.
Bill Casey, Photography:
Bill's love of photography centers on his fascination with exploring new perspectives on subjects we see every day yet don't always truly acknowledge. His Fine Art images focus on Central Florida's nature and wildlife as well as a variety of other interests. His father, a pioneer in the motion picture industry in Florida, was an influence for the work Bill expresses today. Bill is a long time Realtor in the Mount Dora area but makes time to follow his love of the photographic art. Bill's photography in this issue appears on page 7 - the Animal Shelter promo, page 10 - Natural Florida, page 13 - Writers One Flight Up, and page 15 - Tri-City Kudos. His works may be seen at All about Images in Mount Dora and he may be contacted by e-mail at caseybp@earthlink.net.

Since retiring from teaching, portraying historical female characters has kept her involved in education. She splits her time between Mount Dora and Michigan where she summers on twenty-four acres devoted to wildlife. Jeanne continues her adventure series in this issue with "Lighter than Air - Hot Air Balloon Ride" on page 24, and our feature article, "Leaving Desperate Days Behind - Ruth King" on page 20. Richard Huss, Writer:
Richard's strange sense of humor and view of everyday life produces a wealth of writing opportunities for him. Because he is essentially ADHD and cannot sit at the computer for long periods of time, most of his writing is short stories and what he calls, "Huss-says" - bursts of humor, satire and wit laced with opinion stretched to logical absurdity. A member of the local writing group, Writers One Flight Up, Richard is also the editor of Pulse and his column "Ramblin' with Richard" appears in each issue. You can reach Richard at rdhuss@aol.com.
Susan Green Jaillet, Writer:
After serving her time in public education, Susie embarked on a new career as a writer and assistant editor for Pulse. Susie is also a member of Writers One Flight Up, a local Mount Dora creative writing group. She promises to let it "all hang out" as she explores being green and what it means to make a difference when and where we can. Susie's column, "The Green Scene: Henry Parker - Sweet as Tupelo Honey," is on page 16. You can reach Susie at greenongreen2@comcast.net.

Ella loves traveling, writing, art and her husband, Henri, who is her best friend. Ella's contribution for this issue, "Aaron Marable - Whimsical Muralist and Artist," is on page 28.
